Grim Reaper Find at the Flea Market

On rare occasion I accompany my hubby to the local Flea Market on the weekend.  He and his sisters love going.  I don't go often because it means I have to get up at 6:00 am on the weekend, he always asks to spend more money than "allowed" when I am with him, and it is hot and crowded.

Granted sometimes you come across some great stuff.  There are a few regular sellers I like such as the Biker Booth that has great skull items; and the Native American Booth.   But to be honest it is mostly other people's junk and dollar store items.  I have enough "junk" of my own!  But I decided to go last weekend and found the coolest salt and pepper shakers!

Yep, that is the Grim Reaper himself sitting in between the salt and pepper!  Now while I know this is not one of those "rare" finds and they probably are a dime a dozen, I don't care because I love it.  My daughter on the other hand does not.  I was told to "put that back, you are not buying it!".  Apparently she feels she can no longer invite friends over with Mr. Death sitting on the table.  Dear me the things that cause such drama in tweens!  I am the parent so of course I won.  I told her to explain to her friends that is serves a practical and medical purpose.  It is to remind my husband (who is not suppose to have much sodium) that every time he reaches for the salt the Grim Reaper is one step closer to getting his behind.  Also if this Grim Reaper prevents 10 tween girls from coming to my house for sleepovers then he is worth WAY more than the $5 bucks I paid for him.
