Fright Nights is Coming To Kennywood Park

We had a busy weekend!  Went to Kennywood Amusement Park on Saturday and did a cemetery visit for genealogy on Sunday (more on that in an upcoming post).  We had a great day for Kennywood, sunny cool weather.  But a little too cold for the water rides!  I love going to Kennywood late in the season because it means they have started decorating for the Annual Fright Nights.  They turn the park into a spooky, haunted place with with all sorts of ghouls and scary creatures.  Lots of haunted attractions, food, plus a few of the rides are still operating.

I unfortunately have never gone but it looks and sounds fantastic.  You can get more info here on their website Kennywood Fright Nights.  The price is a tad steep at about $26 per person but if you are thinking of going watch the local papers.  Many places will offer discount coupons as October gets closer.  Plus many local Giant Eagle Grocery stores offer $3 off if you purchase tickets there.

Here are a few pictures I took of the decorations they have stared to put up.  I really hope to be able to go this year.
Part of the cemetery you walk through with all sorts of ghouls jumping out at you!
I want this gargoyle for my front porch posts.
Another shot of the cemetery
My favorite--a hearse.  There is a black coffin inside

  1. All of these decorations are great, but I especially love the hearse! Do actors wearing costumes hop out from behind these props?

  2. Yes! They hire lots of "actors" each year to jump out and scare the heck out of visitors. I would love that job.
